How To Make Gifs of YOUR Face
Okay, so, let's face it. People love Gifs. I LOVE Gifs! The Gif keyboard on Twitter is possibly the best thing since sliced bread. You can find a Gif to fit about any emotion or saying... like:
You're AWESOME!
I love you.
I'm sleepy.
I could go on an on. Anyway, what a lot of people don't know is that you, YES YOU, can make your very own Gifs of YOUR FACE!
My go to favorite app to use is called Gif Your Face. It's available in the Chrome Webstore and works on Chromebooks! Add it to your Chrome HERE. They also recently released an iOs app! Get it HERE.
Yes, I have a little fun Gif'n my face...
The steps are easy. Just download the app, make sure you give it access to your photos and camera, then start Gif'n! To make a Gif you just hold your finger on the screen to begin recording and let go when your done. Then you have the option to add text and swipe through filters. When you are all done editing hit the checkmark and share via any social media or copy the link to share as a text message.
Another cool Gif makin' app is called Giphy Cam. I really like that you can add overlays and green screened background! There are a TON of filters and overlays. You have also font options, which is always a plus! I like that you can save Giffy Cam Gifs directly to your camera roll!
Classroom uses for Gifs-
Exit tickets- Get the temperature of the room after a lesson! Have student Gif themselves to let you know how they feel about their learning. Just have them post all of those awesome Gifs to a Padlet board!
Character Analysis- Students can portray characters' traits using Gifs!
Use Techsmith Snagit to capture steps a sequence of steps or to add emphasis to something important!
P.S. Did you know if you go to Youtube, find the perfect video to Gif, put “GIF” in front of the “YouTube” part of the URL at the top of your browser and press Enter. You'll be taken to gifyoutube.com and the clip you selected will automatically show up.
Until next time,
